What's next? Pressing

So, school is coming to the end of the semester for me and I have the summer off...so to speak. I will of course be working my butt off to keep a roof over my head and food in my belly but, besides that I don't have the stress of homework or tests. This means free time, this means...play.

Of course, play to me is training to be better at something and it's time I set my sights on improving a weakness, my standing overhead press. Of course no goal is good unless it is specific.

Current goals:
Strict Overhead Press bodyweight (which is currently 215lbs)
One Arm Strict Overhead Press "The Beast". (48kg or 106lbs)

Training for these goals should help me breeze through the RKC I will be taking at the end of August and, more importantly, make my olympic lifts easier in the long run. I have great lock out strength but, my strict pressing is lacking. Work to improve your faults and be specific with your goals. Another "secret" to improved performance in your sport, in activities and in life.

Train hard and heavy and marvel at some heavy overhead pressers...
