Train to Conquer...
A dark and murky corner of the interweb…the scent of sweat, blood and iron…the thundering cries of fury that emanate from the training hall…you have entered the realm of the Cactus Monster. Here it is that you will find things that most mortal beings fear. The sounds of demonic revelry and the shrieks of power that are the soul of heavy metal music guide the thoughts of those that enter these hallowed halls. The only purpose, the only meaning, the very creed by which the monster and his disciples live, is that of strength. We seek that which others have cast aside. We endeavor to improve, to grow, to evolve. We are monsters of the metal and we will not just survive, we will conquer.
Meet the Monster

- I am a coach of strength that has competed in Olympic Weightlifting, Strongman and continues competing in a variety of strength sports. From my years in the trenches I have come to learn that the best approach to training is to integrate various methodologies to see how the body you are training responds. The “Odd lifts” (deadlift, squat, bench), the Olympic lifts (Snatch, Clean & Jerk), General Calisthenics, Carrying objects for distance, Kettlebells and Running are probably the oldest, simplest and most effective forms of training to improve performance. Using these types of training in various degrees has produced results for the past 100+ years. Before then people just lifted rocks…maybe we should keep doing that too.
I am also a lover of heavy metal music. From my start in Jr. High when White Zombie garnered my attention, to now, where Manowar are my Kings of Metal…I have travelled far and invested much of my time in this amazing and empowering genre of music. There is nothing better to call the soundtrack of my life then this.
This is my world. I live it, I breathe it and I need it to exist.
